Highland Place Apartments, a 30-year old development located in Conneaut, Ohio, recently received a complete rehabilitation and is currently a premier residential community on the shores of Lake Erie. The development team involved in the renovation was Millennia Housing Development, Inc; Sunshine of Warren-Trumbull Area, Inc; Millennia Housing Management, Ltd, American Preservation Builders, LLC; and Dimit Architects.
Originally constructed in 1980, Highland Place Apartments consists of 120 affordable and section 8 subsidized rental units designed to serve a range of households, with specific targeting to families with children in seventy (70) units and to elderly households (persons ages 62 years and older or those with a mobility disability) in the remaining fifty (50) units.
The redevelopment involved the rehabilitation of all 120 existing apartments. The apartment community contains 60 two-bedroom units in five (5) two and one-half story walk up buildings and 10 two-story three-bedroom townhomes in two separate buildings.
